SPORTS AND LEISURE

Valdeón's privileged location within Picos de Europa National Park is the ideal environment for practicing outdoor sports. Mountain bike, horse-riding, mountain trail running and jogging are frequently played by our visitors; while enjoying extraordinary views of the mountains and forests surrounding Valdeón. In the winter time, it is very common to find some people practicing snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice climbing and other snow sports.

“Valdeonissimo” suggests the CHEESE & WINE Route for your leisure time, tasting red wines from the Province of León accompanied by the local produced blue cheese and some other typical “tapas”.

For rainy days or when the weather is not the ideal for playing outdoor sports, we can suggest you some alternative itineraries and other recreational activities to make the most of your stay in Valdeón.
